It may look “original”, but it isn’t! There aren’t many marine contractors that can match the quality and variety of services that Yacht-HQ provides. Electrical, electronics, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulics, AND the galley sink (and counter tops) too!
This customer (2021 Lagoon 58) wanted a new custom countertop and they selected Wilsonart Thinscape as their preferred material. Yacht-HQ is a Certified Winsonart Fabricator for the Solid Surface and Thinscape product lines. We handled the entire project from removing the old countertop to fabricating and installing the new one.
One difference between Yacht-HQ and “land-based” contractors is that we know how boats move and flex. We intentionally left a seam where two sections of counter meet along the AFT salon bulkhead because we KNOW that the boat is going to flex there.
This is a custom countertop to replace the original NAV station on a 2021 Leopard 45. The customer needed more fridge/freezer space and having an ice maker is a dream come true!
The counter is marine plywood laminated with Formica. The counter top is 1″ Italian marble custom-cut to exact dimensions and then beveled & polished.
Of course, we had to relocate some electrical equipment and find a way to re-route some hoses and cabling to make everything fit just right… So the customer was extremely happy that we could handle the whole project ourselves (without any other third-party contractors).
This is a custom removable cutting board made from 1″ Sappy Walnut. It was precision-fit so that it drops onto the existing rails and then “locks in” under the countertop behind the new induction stovetop (which we also installed). Installation and removal are a snap – and when it “locks” into place then it cannot move at all. There are no screws, fasteners, or adhesive… just good old fashioned design & craftsmanship. Check out that precision fit!
